Setup at the site, blue tent is where the actual dig is going on and hut where the security guard is watching over the site. Other object is a water pump to pump the water out of the dig area.

Hey is that Strataman's vehicle next to the site? hehe.

Security guard board out of his ass and just glad to see me. I should be watching the site.

Live webcam camera that was viewable during the digs and seen on the UC Berkeley website.

View of the early stages of the dig exposing the two tusks on the left nad a leg bone on the right and the pelvis at the upper right.

View downstream from the mammoth site. A big trench was dug with a backhoe and water from the site was redirected to the pit to dry out the bone site before excavation.

View of another section of the Guadalupe River showing bank exposures, kinda hidden by the shade and foilage.

Excavation day, late in August 2006. Trenches were dug around each bone and then layered with a plaster jacket to seal the bones before transport. Two tusks on the left, pelvis on the right, and the leg bone in a plaster jacket ready for transporting to Berkelely University.
